On Aug. 16 and 17, Worthington welcomes back its 13th Annual Columbus-Worthington Art Fair, which was recently ranked one of the top 200 art festivals in the country.
During the two-day outdoor show, Worthington Square will be transformed into a first-class showcase, featuring more than 150 artists with more than $15 million in artwork available for sale.
Misty Pinson, of Howard Alan Events, Ltd., which is producing the event, says that a return to Worthington was a must this year.
"Last year for the first time we moved the fair out of Worthington, but we received an outpouring of disappointment from patrons. So we’re very much looking forward to being back home again at Worthington Square," she says.
The Columbus-Worthington Art Fair is just one stop among the 40 other venues Howard Alan tours throughout the country. Cities and locations are personally selected by the groups’ founders who look for unique, culture-rich venues for an experience unmatched by other festivals. The objective is to provide patrons with a incredible weekend of fine art, food and shopping.
From simple festival goers to passionate art enthusiasts and collectors, the Art Fair has something for everyone to enjoy. The Art Fair hosts everything from $15 handmade silver jewelry to $50 prints, to $20,000 metal sculptures. Art available covers the entire spectrum of mediums - paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics, mixed media and more - and includes something for every budget.
Not only will visitors be able to enjoy the summertime showcase in the beautiful outdoors of Worthington Square, but the festival also provides the unique opportunity to meet and talk with the featured artist. Selected through a critical jury process to guarantee only the finest exhibits, the Art Fair will feature both exciting upcoming and new artists as well as the well-established.
"Unlike regular art galleries, all of the artists will be at their booths throughout the entire weekend giving festival goers the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the artists and hear about their work and what inspires them. It’s an excellent, and free, learning experience for all ages," says Pinson.
The 13th Annual Columbus-Worthington Art Fair Art Fair’s hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Admission is free for all visitors. For any additional information, visit www.artfestival.com.
